  • The only folks I’ve seen post on here that are running speeds other than 5600MT/s are also reporting RAM issues.

That doesn’t mean it can’t work, but I’d gladly pay the 40% premium to have a supported experience. If you do have issues you could end up buying or at least finding 5600MT/s memory before an RMA is accepted, if it comes to that.

If you’re buying 32gb the difference is around an Andrew Jackson. That’s a lot of risk for $20. Choose wisely!

    I hope

  • Probably bad luck. There are quite a few framework laptops out there and plenty of folks using other chargers, so far there doesn’t seem to be a general trend that they don’t work or cause issues.

But I’d stick to known brands, the mystery ones often don’t perform as claimed and are pretty shoddy on the safety features. Anker and UGreen seem to be popular and reliable based on forum posts. I see you had an Anker that died, but try another charger and hopefully your luck changes.

Paper towel made damp with water for the whole thing. Removes basically everything. Once in a great while qtip with a little alcohol for something really stubborn. Microfiber on the screen if there are any streaks.

Done this for years, never needed a reason to change. I am paranoid about alcohol and only use it as a last resort for specific spots.

  • Do you care to share any specific AUR packages or special things you needed to do to make the touchpad, screen, audio, etc work? I’m planning on installing arch when mine comes in. Currently running Ubuntu for my daily driver but really want to give arch with btrfs a try, really like the idea of newer software and a rolling release, and with snapper I should be pretty well protected if an update causes issues.
