I’m honestly confused that they aren’t choosing to back another, established immutable project instead of working on yet another distro! They’ve not formally fixed Pop_OS! to satisfaction, and that should be the priority first and foremost.
I guess if it works out in the end, it will probably be fine…But, it does make me raise an eyebrow.
Mmm, well this is fine either way to me. Its not as if I would protest yet another Linux distro existing…Having more options for more users is for the best in the long term. As there are so many niches that a singular form of distro could never account for. I was merely confused, initially but your response clarifies some of my questions, makes me recall things that I once could immediately recall.
However, I might not use it given the reliance on systemd tools. The one thing that I enjoyed about immutable distros was the lack of the systemd tools with bootc or rpm ostree based distros. While most appreciate systemd, I think it is doing a bit too much, personally.
