I made it all the way through checkout last night at 6pm eastern time through the steam cellphone app. I backed out of the purchase at the final step because i didn’t want to spend that kind of money on the limited edition, grabbed a 512gb oled instead. I was surprised there were still limited editions in stock and i saw a lot of people complaining about being unable to make it through the purchase process so i decided to test it and see if i could… no issues. I’m wondering if there is a difference between the steam app and the steam website? Either way, hope you have better luck and are able to get one.
I only had about an hour to play post update, fired up 7 days to die and couldn’t figure out why it looked a little shitty. Finally realized the update reset all my fsr settings, and didn’t have time to get everything dialed in perfectly so i cannot comment. I will say the 60fps seemed a little more consistent than it was previously, but, again didn’t really get a chance to run it through the paces.
I just bought a 512, got all the way to check out with a limited edition just to see… used the steam cellphone app. Zero hiccups in the process. Just couldn’t swing that price tag for the limited edition but damn i came so close.
I’ll push back, the major console manufacturers are pretty universally regarded as anti-consumer. I see any break from their established norms as a grassroots effort to stand out, and provide quickly and efficiently to an eager consumer base. I personally feel 7 days is more than enough time to come to an informed decision regarding the ultimate purchase/abstinence from said purchase, and lands the product within the perfect window for the holidays. I’m assuming they shaved this as close to the teeth as they could, to the moment they knew they would be able to provide an actual product in time, given the extremely low quantity being released. Considering the low stock, and the quick announce to release window, logic would suggest this was a much quicker than normal process, that ultimately addresses some of the major wants from the community in a way that is just that, quick.
I’m here for it.
So, my steamdeck is my only pc… because, well, I’m a heathen. I ordered the new oled, but want to upgrade the ssd. Can i use my old steamdeck to flash the new os onto a usb?
I understand this is a really newb question, and i guess the main jist of my question is around linux compatibility with the tool used to create the os file on the usb. I’m still very new to linux, and haven’t touched a windows machine in more than 10 years.
