  • eSIM is easy for all the carriers that use them (all the main ones). On O2 they still needed to send me a bit of paper with the QR code on or go into store for it - seems crazy!

Vodafone is much easier - and any time you delete the sim (swapping phones etc) they straight away email you a new one and you’re ready to go.

Something to note, you are liable for import duty and VAT when you bring the device back to the UK. If for any reason you forget to fill in that on your paperwork the new box and cable can help remind HMRC as you go through…… if you happen to keep it.

  • Using family set up is an option - but not a good one.

Personally in this situation I’d be inclined to use two lines on the phone itself and then you’ve got the solid connection throughout.

I don’t think WiFi calling works using the other lines data connection so it might be a case of setting up call divert from your main number when unavailable to the alternative line.

When you’re out of cell coverage for your main line you’d not get SMS messages but iMessage would still work as expected for all numbers.

    Like this dude said.

    But long/short

If you are set to share purchases then all of them will be charged to the organisers card.

So, in this case you’ve said that they don’t have a card linked - this is the problem.

  • Use an external drive plugged into your phone - then can export with the share menu.

The better option though is to plug your phone into your Mac and use the image capture app (probably need to use the search to find it - but it will already be on your Mac). This allows you to copy the photos to any location and you can also choose to delete them after they’ve copied.
