I’ve always been a PC gamer with the exception of some console titles which are IP exclusives (Nintendo, for example). However, what the Steam Deck has fundamentally done for me is shown me that I don’t have to chase the latest and greatest hardware. I can have a LOT of fun with some actually fairly low grade hardware. I hope this pushes developers on a new direction where they full-stop pursuing maxing out the latest, greatest hardware and focus more on optimization (here’s looking at you, Bethesda).

Spend ~$400 - $500 on a handheld, of course it can’t play AAA titles.

Spend ~$2,000 on a gaming laptop or PC, of course it can play AAA titles

A $500 laptop is less functional than a Steam Deck. Let’s keep this all in perspective, here.

All 3 depending. When I’m picking it up off the floor or a side table, the waiter. When I’m carrying it after picking it up, the under hand. When I’m pausing my game or temporarily not playing it and need to look away for a moment, the gunslinger.
