I got the 512GB LCD to have the largest drive available, then I realized I wanted 2TB and got a new drive. The matte screen looked dull to me and never was a big fan, so the side effect of a glossy screen protector was nice.

For the 1TB OLED, I didn’t need the space as I swapped the 2TB drive in the first day, but I wanted the removable liner case and the digital goodies (which sucked, even more than the LCD’s). So again, like the LCD, I just put on a glossy protector, looks much better. Matte screens just look dull (to me).

The only downside for the OLED version is that the matte seemed to be more fingerprint resistant (didn’t use it much though), and my screen protector seems to be a fingerprint magnet, but I always clean the screen regularly of all electronics, so it doesn’t bother me as much, but maybe something to research, I cannot really tell you that the OLED matte screen is fingerprint resistant, was just a short time without screen protector.

I had a random cheap glossy protector on my 512TB LCD, worked perfect (negates the matte effect obviously). I even removed the first one and installed a second one in the pack.

For the 1TB OLED I used a cheap glossy JSAUX one, working perfect. It won’t mess with the glass, the residue is negligible, not like you are installing a 3M wrap.

JSAUX one has a plastic guide, took me less than 20 seconds.

I used a cheap Budeonu dock for months, no issues, except it was finicky sometimes with the HDMI out when turning on my displays. And I also have a Valve dock which works great. Just follow reviews. The Valve dock is overpriced really.

2. No flaws in the plan, except that sometimes with new accounts the system may flag as spam or similar and sometimes you even need to send an ID to prove identity. This may or may not matter to you, as that account will forever have that data about you somewhere on their support system. Think if you break up in the future and it’s now her account. Just something to think about. Also maybe it would be better to give her a gift card and let her pick the games she wants? You may end up spending money on games she doesn’t like at the end of the day. Maybe if you had a list of games she’d want… The steam wishlist would work too.

Flatseal will help you with permissions in Flatpaks, which is I assume what you downloaded Deluge as.

Not really the helpful comment you expected, but qBitorrent has an AppImage and then you don’t have to mess with permissions (and optionally make it portable so it even runs from the SD Card).

The Micron hasn’t given me issues and it seems to be the gold standard (after all it’s the one iFixIt themselves sell). The Sabrent is cheaper but some people have reported issues, so YMMV.

Keep an eye on protondb to see if someone posts a report. This is a very niche collection so who knows how long that’d take

You can always buy the game and try it with latest proton, then proton experimental, or one of the proton GE versions. If doesn’t work (and at this point make sure you have less than 2 hours of runtime) then you can refund it.

Presumably it’s just a dock with an extra M2->USB adapter, so it should work as an external HD yes. I would be weary of having an SSD without protection (shell/cover) like that.

Just something that may or not interest you, but family sharing is a thing, with a lot of caveats though (like not being able to play at the same time, or not all games available, those who are will show on their steam page)
