Maybe you have the port forwarding set up incorrectly. Discovery and wake-up is udp port 9302. Connection required udp port 9296 and tcp port 9295 and you’ll also want 9297 udp for senkusha

Do you have multiple WiFi connections? I had a guest network and private network WiFi and had both setup on my deck and sometimes it would switch to the guest WiFi. Well, devices connected via Ethernet can’t be accessed via the guest network so when this happened my deck couldn’t find my ps5. Maybe this is what’s happening to you?
It sounds like something is affecting your network stability. As for your question, there are a number of additions in chiaki4deck but other than the recommended settings during configuration and using newer versions of dependencies there is nothing directly related to stream performance. In other words, variations in performance (using the same settings) are likely due to variations in your network or Chiaki settings than any differences between Chiaki and Chiaki4deck.
I would use one of your computers and set up chiaki4deckon there and also try using the remote play app and compare the performance to see how things are before making your decision. That will be the best indicator of how the portal and steamdeck will perform for remote play using their respective apps.
Also it could be that your Steam deck isn’t connecting to the wifi router sometimes so doesn’t see the connection.
