Steamui (chromium) is smart and stops pushing frames when there are no updates to the screen. As of a recent steam update, the background on the home menu moves. This means it’s always pushing new frames which may cause some cpu usage. Try removing this using the ‘hero zoom eradication’ theme

Why not use tabmaster?

(This wouldn’t be possible as a cssloader theme, btw)

I don’t know if it’s a good idea or not, but:

You can boot into a live image of gparted, and back up the entire disk as an image file via dd (commandline), either on a usb or on the microsd.

Later, you can flash that image back to the internal ssd, after you swapped it

Themes indeed don’t update automatically (i don’t want people to lose any modifications to themes just cause cssloader decided to update automatically)

You can update themes in place in the settings, themes with an update have a yellow triangle. Alternatively, there’s also an update all button in settings

Switch like home was also broken, some offsets changed in the last update. Either switch to stable or ask the dev to fix it
