Short answer-- Yes.
Long answer-- Most games have cloud saves which won’t require you to do any work, this will vary by game though. I had maybe 3 out of my 60 or so installed games that didn’t have cloud saves.

I may have encountered the trackpads thing, but my old deck did that too I think.
Not encountering any problems with sd cards.
It’s not that bad, there’s the occasional dips in frame rate in a few random areas, and there’s a weird graphical glitch that happens occasionally. Still very playable.
Do yourself a favor and buy black mesa.
Complete remake done with love by fans of the game.
There’s some steam deck controller layouts with gyro that are a must and feels great when you get the hang of it.

I would rather play FPS on steam deck due to the gyro controls. Not a mouse and keyboard fan. Kinda hoping for a steam deck controller for when I have it docked.
As per your question, I’ve been playing Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together.
Basically plays 90% like final fantasy tactics with a way more obtuse story that I’m not caring much about, but I dig the battle system, seems more balanced than FFT.
You should put on a driving game to make it more immersive.
