I’ve been a bit nervous about making an obvious post about what steam deck to buy, but this seems as good a post as any.
I was ready to pay the price for the 512gb steam deck this morning, so I’m pleased this will now get me the 1tb version. Just a quick question: does the 1tb purely effect purely storage or will it run more intensive games? I’m looking to run mainly strategy (total war, civilization, age of empires) and sim management games (OOTP, Football Manager, Football Coach) whilst I’ve always thought of maybe running the re-released metal gear solids (tho I’ll likely just run that on my ps5). I’d also be interested in looking at running an emulator for the old NCAA and NFL 2k games. I’d love to run cities skylines (the first one) but I’m worried about burning out the steam deck, as I have done with laptops, so I will probably avoid that. Any advice on if the steam deck could handle these types of games?
I have been looking at buying the 1tb OLED. Does the steam deck run quicker with 1tb, or should I save £100 with the 512gb and get an SD card? Is the 1tb is purely storage benefits and can this be offset by an SD card?
