    Depends if you have a reason to install Windows. If you’re mostly playing games, especially from Steam, you’re fine with SteamOS. If there’s some games you do play that don’t work under SteamOS (eg developer refusing to get their anti cheat Linux compatible, game pass, etc.) then go ahead with Windows. Personally I dual boot both OSes, Windows is only used for those anti cheat games but I much prefer SteamOS for everything else as it feels more comfortable to use on the Deck.

    For Steam downloads, even though 6 is faster (and even faster with 6E thanks to 6GHz support), you’ll still be limited by the SD’s CPU as it needs to decompress the download, or the SD card’s write speed if you’re installing a game to that.

    If anything I guess if you’re in an area where 5GHz is congested, and you have a 6E router then it’ll benefit you in online play with lower latency. But 5GHz itself is hardly congested due to lower penetration power.
