    Samsung:

    • Has the most customisation BY FAR, without root
→ Good lock is like having a rooted phone: It lets you change the system UI colour theme + design a completely custom lock screen + create a custom keyboard with symbol & emoji letters, etc.)
→ Can change your entire system font by downloading one from the internet

    • Incredibly feature packed! (Yet the UI is still clean and consistent)
→ Proper screen-shrinking one-handed mode + incredible multitasking w/ multiple floating apps + EVERYTHING can be changed in settings, power button can launch any app or function
→ Multitasking: I can have Teams & Notes in split screen for note taking, with WhatsApp floating on top, which can be minimised

    • Samsung “Routines” are incredibly powerful, Google assistant routines can’t compare

    • I really appreciated the S-Pen on the Note10
→ being able to doodle art whenever I feel like it is cool, also it helps to be able to explain things to people with sketches
→ unfortunately, they don’t make a small Note phone anymore so I have to switch to a penless S23 😔

    • the few things I don’t like about Samsung though:
      → too much bloatware
→ they should make a small Galaxy Note again

‼️ Okay the Samsung explanation is done, here’s my reasoning for the other brands ‼️

    iPhone:

    • I like the lock screen customisation on iPhone! It’s clean. Also iPhone animations & smoothness are amazing, however…
    • iPhones are too restricted - I’m always customizing things in my phone’s UI, and I wanna be able to sideload APKs (I rely on YT revanced, YT music revanced, and newpipe regularly)
    • The lack of a file manager would annoy me
    • I use my android + a razer kishi as a retro game emulation device, and emulation on iPhone is way harder to set up

    Pixel:

    • The UI is polished & satisfying, also amazing cameras - however Pixels lack some basic features:
    • They have no screen-shrinking Samsung-style one-handed mode (only a reachability mode, which doesn’t help on big phones where you can’t reach the left & right edges of the screen)
    • There’s no multi-window app support, only split screen (in 2023?)
    • There are some cool AI features with Pixel, but there’s so few of them (there’s like, call screening, now playing… and that’s about it) - these are majorly outweighed, for me, by Samsungs features & customisability

    Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus

    • Finally, brands with similar amounts of features to Samsung! However,
    • OppoPlus don’t make small phones (Xiaomi does, at least)

    • Otherwise, there’s not that many negatives for these brands, in my eyes! I might consider them tbh

Keep in mind, these are all my opinion - different people value different things in phones!

I’m obsessed with customisation & features, but some ppl may prefer a more accessible experience, and some prefer stock Android

I also prefer the usability of small phones, but some ppl may like bigger screens for media & gaming
