Yeah I hate it too. It actually makes it harder to discern between motorways and roads, as well as water and parks. What on earth are they thinking? The poor contrast between colors is infuriating, it’s making me use Apple Maps and Magic Earth more lol.

I can’t see anything in that screenshot in the area to the top right so my guess is it’s an issue with your hardware.

As someone who still uses a DSLR/mirrorless camera and also carries a Pro Max, honestly, as much as Apple has bigged up their new lenses, it’s still a tiny sensor which will always limit the quality. It’s better than older iPhone models but it’s not mind blowing. 5x zoom is however very useful.

I’d wait a year or two to be honest. At least by then, the upgrades will be a stark difference.

Your current phone is perfectly fine for a few more years. It’s only 13/14 months old!

Unless you’re desperate to ditch the size of the max, I’d keep using your current phone until it is either no longer getting software updates from Apple or the performance of the phone no longer meets your needs.

Honestly! Phones absolutely do not need upgrading every year. The best thing about waiting several years between upgrades is the that upgrades truly feels like an upgrade at that point, not just a small improvement.

It’s usually 5 to 7 years after end of sale (depending on how hard it is to support the hardware).
