Pro tip: Every commercial device you are thinking of buying has a much better version (or three) in development already. If it makes you mad, then you should not buy electronics.
I work in designing consumer electronics and we often are testing the version 4 when the version 2 is just being released. It’s the only way to stay in buisness and iterate on your products long enough for them to be really good. The other option is shove it out the door as soon as it seems to work, and that is how you get garbage.
1s story was a bit of a silly afterthought. 2s story is more meaty (the characters are unique and presage to bg3) but still pretty silly. Both games are about systems and scenarios more than a plot.
