Netflix has hired someone new for the tvOS version. Apparently someone realized that such an outdated app is embarrassing for a market leader. Above all, Apple has reduced the prices to an “Amazon Cube-like level” for the new Apple TV 4K, so there will surely be many new buyers with it. This new developer has been working on all the missing features for a while now. Apparently he had to clean up all the code first, so that it can work with the server infrastructure. Since the beginning of the year there’s actually a new update almost every week, since almost four weeks even with visible changes (e.g. new login methods, new dynamic background image when logging in, advertising subscription is supported, live streams are supported, changes to some fonts and now new covers and the top 10 list as well as the three rating options (incl. double thumbs up).
Still hope that Netflix manages to get the interactive movies / series to run. Maybe it works, if they get the Netflix own player to run.
