Hey guys, let me start off by saying it’s been a while since I’ve been into the tech savvy world so I don’t know how good or bad certain pieces of tech are right now. Now, on to my question

I currently have an msi gl63 8rd laptop with the following: intel core i7-8750h, NVIDIA GeForce gtx 1050 ti with 4gb virtual ram, 8gb ram, a 250gb ssd that has OS on it, and a 1tb hdd for storage.

Is it worth upgrading my ram and hdd to a ssd, or getting a 64gb steam deck and upgrading the storage? I’m wanting to play games like baldurs gate 3, divinity original sin2, multiple indie games. Things like that. Any help would be extremely grateful.

You could ad another stick of ram for pretty cheap, but nothing you do to that laptop will make it play games better. Steam deck is going to be a little more powerful than the laptop, but not by a crazy amount.

Is mobility important for you (I guess a laptop is mobile) or playing the newest games?

I think the steam deck is great for lighter games and older games. The newer ones that are coming out might not work as well.
