Hello, recently on the 11.11 aliexpress sale i ordered a wd sn740 512gb ssd for my 64gb steam deck, however i jusr received a mail from the seller that its our of stock and if id like a micron 2450 instead, how does the micron perform, should i accept it or cancel and try find a wd. I paid $30 for the wd.

Hello, friend, SN740-512G is out of stock now, only Micron 2450-512G, or Kioxia BG5-512G, their performance is the same, can you replace it, if it can’t be accepted, please cancel the order<<

How much did you pay for it? A quick Google search shows that the other 2 drives are not quite as fast as the 740. Real world performance probably won’t be a lot different, but I’d double check that those other drives aren’t selling for cheaper than what you paid.

Thank you for the reply. I paid roughly 30usd, so if the deck performance wont be much different ill get the micron, cant seem to find anymore sales for around 30usd since the sale is over

The SN740 and Micron 2450 are pretty comparable drives in performance. The SN740 is a little faster, but the Deck’s PCIe 3 interface is going to restrict it.

They both have endurance ratings of 300 TBW. They both have very low power draw of around 3mW in sleep state (WD claims 3.3 mW, while Micron claims less than 3 mW).

Both are good drives. I’d be fine using either.

same happened to me. And I asked about my order before, but the seller waited until the sale to be over to say that is out of stock
