I also go for the base iPhones. It’s time for an upgrade and I’m thinking about going for a black iPhone 15 256gb.

I was tempted to go with a iPhone 15 pro. But I couldn’t justify owning one because I don’t really need the features.

For people who bought the base iPhone. Do you regret it? How is your experience with the phone?

I have the 128gb pink iPhone 15 and I love it so much! Frankly I’ve never had a pro phone, I upgraded from a 128gb iPhone 12 mainly because of the battery. My iPhone 15 works amazingly and I don’t regret upgrading for one second. I’m a pretty regular phone user so basically only call/ texts, social media, occasional photography, and I spend so much time in uni away from my phone so the battery lasts me more than 48 hours. Work I do over my laptop. On the other hand my mom upgraded from iPhone 12 Pro Max to iPhone 15 plus, also 128gb, and she loves it so much. She uses her phone a lot for work to make calls, meetings etc so she needs her battery strong. She doesn’t notice any changes from her PM because she’s also a regular user that doesn’t care too much for pro features. We don’t regret our purchases! Hope this helped a bit

As someone who has a 13 mini, the upgrade is absolutely not worth it, the only big differences are the A16 chip which is basically just an optimised A15 and the Dynamic Island, which, at least for me, wouldn’t warrant an upgrade on their own. Honestly, the 13 series is really the best to be on at the moment, the chip is only one generation behind and the rest of the specs are pretty much identical to the newest ones.

Ask I was playing with my gf’s 15 and liked it so much, I bought one (in addition to my 15PM).

The only real thing that’s missing for me is the ProMotion display which also allows for AOD. If Apple is really only going to keep ProMotion for the Pro models, they should really, at the least, give the base models 90 Hz displays.

My father has an 14 pro and I have a 15 base 256gb so I know each device. I never used a 120hz model (iPhone 11->15) I’m totally fine with 60hz (hate AOD too and in my opinion kills battery) and 2 cameras is enough for me Love this phone!

From what I’ve seen online there’s not much difference in photo quality between the different models of the past few years.

For the pro models, 3x zoom is pretty sweet. I use macro mode pretty often, idk why it’s only for pro models but it’s pretty good. Night time portraits need lidar, they’re also nice to have on the rare times I use it.

Screen refresh at 120 is great, but the pros also can have very low refresh rate for always on displays.

The usb 3.0 on the pros support display port if you ever want to attach a monitor to your phone.

Those are the main reasons to get the pro imo

Why dont you just get a 14 Pro? Same price, better phone. I dont get why people get the base model when they could get the previous Pro (a better phone) for the same $$$

Well I switched from Galaxy S23 ultra to my very first iPhone 15 so I went for the Pro Max. I wanted to go for just the Pro but couldn’t downgrade in the screen size department also caise at that time it wasn’t available in stock

My amateur iPhone does everything I need it to do. I have always wondered why people buy a professional version. The only reasons I can think of are either playing games or showing off.

I got the same spec you are thinking of. I have had this thing for a month and so far I have no complaints whatsoever. The battery is amazing and the camera is great. I also wanted to get the pro but I got this and I haven’t looked back since. Imo, the camera on the 15 pro is too big and looks pretty ugly. But this isn’t about the pro. In summary, The base 15 is what most people should get and it will treat you right.

Only ever upgraded because of iPhones breaking. Always happened when I had a “indestructible” case on them. All I have is just a number case on a 13PM, no screen protector, and dropped it a lot of times on hard surfaces and all I got is a small couple scratches that are hardly noticeable.

I’m on 13 too and i can’t see a single reason why one would upgrade to a base 15. Even my battery feels like its a new iphone
