I recently saw a review, I believe it was LTT, where they argued that if you already have the back open for a SSD swap you could also place a AirTag into it. There should be sufficient space

I know it’s not much help afterwards but maybe it will help someone

Any gadgets I travel with go into my carry on. Learn from this. Better yet, attain a small cross-body bag from Bange that houses your deck and all its accessories. Have a tracker placed in a hidden compartment in the thing, as, if the bag contains the accessories, such as the charger, they will not throw it away. You then will be able to track the thing.

Just to clear up confusion. I meant my carry-on luggage! It was taken I believe at security as I had turned my back to my bag to put a coat on (I have mobility issues so its a big of a task) When I turned back I noticed my zip open but didnt think anything of it just thought I did it myself.

The charger was still in the bag so it feels like a grab and go thing when I had put it back into my back at security.

I never ever put anything in luggage beyond clothes or random bathroom stuff. Bring valuable stuff in your backpack.

Never put anything in checked luggage that you aren’t willing to loose. I once had an airport loose 5 suitcases when going on a cruise in the Mediterranean. Didn’t see them until 3 ish days later and everything inside was damp as if it had sat out in the rain or on a wet curb and gotten splashed a lot. Ruined some of my brothers books he’d brought. But I had my valuables ( and a spare change of clothes) in my carryon so I was alright.

Luggage gets lost, stolen, broken into and just plain raised all the time. Our bags had locks on them and they still looked like they had been rifled through Thoroughly, each and every single bag.

Sorry you got robbed, I’d consider contacting the police as this isn’t a case of just leaving it on a plane but someone actually breaking into your bag and stealing your personal expensive belongings. That’s a crime and the airports will probably be a Lot more willing to do something about it ( they have cameras literally everywhere in airports) if you mention that you’ve gotten the police involved.

They probably confisticated it, not stole it. Why are you stowing away Lithium in the checked baggage anyway

Sorry for your loss, but hopefully you learned a lesson. Put it in your carry on next time.

Don’t put anything expensive in your suitcase ever again, they hire all types of weirdos nowadays and internal theft has increased in airports and your crap out of luck if anything goes missing because the people in charge of finding your stuff might be the people who stole it
