I would disagree. The game is not really at all trying to be like a Bethesda game - the similarities are pretty superficial. Yes, it has similar combat and controls, and you’d be forgiven for looking at a screenshot and thinking they are similar. But it’s not trying to give you a huge open world to explore and get lost in - it’s very much plot-driven and quest driven.
It has a pretty good main plot, absolutely fantastic side quests, great worldbuilding, and outstanding character writing.
Yes, it’s not a huge or long game, so if you think that makes it not worth spending the full price on, whatever. I still got a solid 50-60 hours out of the game, if not more, and would highly recommend it to anybody (assuming it runs well on Deck, of course - I have only played it on Switch)
Only play Outer Worlds if you can get it for like $7 on sale. Its just a bad copy of BGS games (which themselves aren’t great these days)
