So ive wanted a steamdeck since they announced it but since then i have bought a high end pc. Now with the launch of the oled edition ive been thinking of actually buying one. But my question is, people who have high end pc’s, did you regret buying a steamdeck? Do you play totally different games or the same but for example on the couch? The only reason i would want to buy one is so i can lay on the couch in the evening and just relux instead of sitting at the desk but it just feels really unnecessary. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I have a PC with a 13700k + 4080 with an Alienware 34 inch ultrawide OLED and a Steam Deck. I don’t regret the stem deck one bit and have ordered the OLED as well (especially since my old Deck is a bit broke now) . I work from home a lot and after work it’s often just so chill to not sit in the same office chair and lie down in the sofa or on the bed to game. I will generally play the most demanding games like Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2 on my main rig, but now with the OLED screen and with a wifi6 router I will look into streaming from the PC more.

Many games I see as basically Deck exclusive. There are so many cool indies and older games that are just perfect for the Steam Deck. Slay the spire, Monster Train, Triangle Strategy, Dredge, Persona 5 Vampire Survivors and so on… They just make sense handheld. Also for some reason Elden Ring was more gun, handheld I’ve felt even if performance is limited. But I love having the option and it’s so cool to play on the computer and seemlessly continue on the Deck. Midnight suns was for instance a game I played on both and it was great.

I would say my time is divided 50/50 and I couldn’t do without one or the other.
