Good day. Wasn’t really sure which to post this is cuz its a mix of a few.

I have the SteamDeck, ps5, switch and was looking into either getting the ROG Ally or just a Xbox series S. Only reason id be using the ally is for Xbox game pass as the SteamDeck does everything for me perfectly with my gaming style and ps remote play and cloud streaming works perfectly.

My question is, how good does the xbplay app work? I was looking into just getting a series S for game pass, installing the games and just using xbplay to remote into playing them via my SteamDeck as it allows you to play off your wifi as well.

Would this be similar to just using a ally with xgames downloaded or would there be a big jump in difference? My wifi is pretty good. I’m not super picky over the best graphics but the price difference has me thinking and series S doesn’t require the tweaking of games to work like I heard the ally does.

The ally currently is $899CAD But on sale for $699CAD and the Xbox series S carbon is $449. It could save me over $250 if I remote play into it. (The Lgo is $949 Cad so that’s out the picture)

Any advice?

Why not stream to the deck with xcloud? I use that now for Xbox games so I don’t have to buy the system. Or use Nvidia GeForce now to stream gamepass to the deck with better quality but would need to pay extra per month for GeForce
