It is a torture test after all, I have a A95K 65" that runs for 50 to 70 hours a week, mostly gaming/browsing.

I think I’ve had it for a year and 3 months, and no burn in yet.

Isn’t Rtings test basically “worst case scenario”? Is their 700 hours continuous?

People forget to mention the part where they were displaying CNN 24/7. It’s a torture test.

Is there any technological advancement that would make OLED as reliable as LCD/IPS displays today? It seems like it’s a part of the technology itself

That’s the “organic” part of OLED. You’re basically asking for immortality at this point. I think microLED would be the purported successor but they’re still developing that tech.

1 example is apparently ‘proving’ now. Amazing the garbage that gets through the mods these days.

So I bought my Alienware aw3423dw at release and have been using it as my work and gaming monitor since than. I use dark mode and don’t watch CNN on my monitor, but it has over 6000 hours of use so far and no burn in…

I have a Sony XBR-55A8H. Not gonna lie for the price I was worried about burn-in. Especially since I was going to heavy game on it.

Well its been a few years now and about 2k+ hours later on it strictly from gaming. Probably another 400 hours in streaming content.

It looks as good as I bought it.

Do y’all even watch the entire video? That’s 700 hours of continuous 16:9 use with 33% of the display not being illuminated due to its 21:9 aspect ratio. The upcoming QD-OLED AW3225QF and AW2725DF won’t have this problem.

I’d still take one every time as a TV - they just look so much better.

(Speaking as someone who bought an A95k a bit over a year ago and has had an LG WOLED for several years before that)
