Hey all!

So I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with my OG SD when my OLED arrives. I’ve spent the afternoon with an external drive hooked up to try out Batocera and damn this thing works well! Much better than the mini PC I’m using. So it’s got me thinking about replacing my mini PC with the Steam Deck permanently. Which leads me to a couple of questions. I’ve tried reading up on it but didn’t find solid answers:

Is there a way to get the SD to always boot my external drive by default? Having to go into the boot menu every time will get old quick. And will it default to the external while hooked up to a dock?

That leads me to the next question: any recommendations on a good dock for this? It needs to let me always boot the external drive through it.

Is there any way to turn off the Steam Decks screen since it will be hooked up to a TV? When running Batocera the SD has a black screen but the black light is still on. It would be nice to either disable it or turn the brightness way down.

Any other gotchas I should know about before going this route? I’ve been playing retro games on the SD as a normal handheld, but this is the first I’ve tried on something with higher resolution than the SD screen deck. A lot of systems run at 4K just swimmingly!
