Do any of the big MMO’s run well on the Steam Deck? I currently play WoW and would love to try it out on there. I’d be willing to try others if it’s not to much of a pain to get up and running.

Wow is a bit of pain to setup but it runs and plays great with the consoleport addon. FFXIV also plays great and is much easier to setup. I haven’t tried them myself but I’ve also seen ESO and GW2 being played on the deck as well.

FFXIV runs at a locked 60fps. Definitely plays wonderfully with a controller considering the game was built with a controller input in mind. You’ll only have to download the xivlauncher off GitHub though instead of relying on the steam launcher.

Consoleport add on for WoW, limited on controls though so maybe stick to a hunter or made, lol.

I believe you can run it natively or with proton or something, there’s a few guides out there. I tried it on the Ally and it worked well.

Final Fantasy XIV not only works out of the box if you buy the steam version, it also works at 60fps and is the greatest mmo there is :p

Wow has excellent controller support now. /Console GamePadEnable 1 enables built in controller support, with the new adaptive targeting system it works really well. Console port can help improve things for some but I prefer playing without it now.

Using steam you can get everything bound easily, works well even for classes with lots of abilities/healers.
