Is the hand photoshopped in? It looks tiny. Or did the boxes get huge?

12700k > 14900k, seeing anywhere between 20-25% uplift in the CPU bound games that I play.

MSFS is a good example, I play 1440p ultrawide and went from 50-55FPS to 65-70 in a direct comparison. This plastering of “it’s hardly an upgrade” is a bit misleading because it can make big differences in the right context and if you know MSFS, 10-15 extra frames feels amazing.

As a flight simmer myself actually surprised you seen an uplift of 20-25% going from a 12700k>14900k

The increased cache probably had something to do with it.

        Anyways, thanks for sharing!

Like, 1/10th of that upgrade even.

At least the iPhone got a 120Hz screen, always on display and massive CPU/GPU improvements.

Except this makes less sense because there is no battery to degrade.

5960x still kicking. I have the money set aside and was waiting for 14th gen but I still can’t justify upgrading other than for pcie gen 4 and 5. Real enthusiast Hedt is dead and flagship cpus are just power hungry heat chips and besides creature comforts of newer systems, the speed and stability I get is still excellent.

    What would you do?

I just had one question. What performance issue were you hoping to solve with the upgrade and did it indeed solve the problem?

One personal already pointed out the MSFS uplift was surprisingly high between the 2, are you a sim player also?

I don’t understand why people upgrade cpus so often. Unless there is money to be made.
