This is just a rant…

Trying to get a controller to work with my SD is a royal pain in the *ss. Controller with dongle? Drops out after a few seconds. Bought an Xbox controller! Can’t update the firmware without a laptop or Xbox. What is the point of having a dock if I can’t get a controller to work!?

    8bitdo ultimate wired controller(make sure you get the steam deck one) regularly goes for $15. Works great with a dock.

    Just use your Xbox controller wired.

    I know that sucks, but that’s the reality of the Steam Deck. Hopefully the OLED will work better considering it has a dedicated bluetooth chip.

        Honestly the disconnection drives me crazy, I’d rather be a Neanderthal with a working controller!
