I’m playing factorio, and I use the right trackpad as a mouse instead of using the joystick. It’s easier on my hands. Well the bottom left corner of my trackpad will click no matter how light I run my thumb over it. It acts like a left mouse button all the time even when I’m just trying to move my mouse. I don’t want to change the setting for it because then I can’t use it as a mouse, which would suck, but I’m not sure if there is a solution for this. Did I break the trackpad on my steamdeck? This is the first time I’ve run into this issue and I’m really hoping I didn’t Mess it up.

You can adjust the force required to click in the advanced settings of the trackpad. The default is always too sensitive. Go to where the mouse click is bound to “R Click” and open the settings menu next to it. It’s the cog icon. Then click settings. Scroll down to “soft press threshold” and set it to about 10,000. That’s what I’ve found to be a perfect click strength for me.

Does it do this click in other games? Did you accidentally enable a click on an Outer Ring binding?

Have you tried understanding your right track pad first and then try to engage with it? Maybe it is the right kind of sensitive and just doesn’t conform to your ideals of what a track pad should be? Have you considered that? Mayne not all track pads are cut out for military Academy dad! Maybe he doesn’t want to follow some stupid family tradition!

Who knows. It is a very serious subreddit maybe. Not the first time I make a joke post and get downvoted to oblivion.

You can adjust a ton of input settings if you go into controller settings aka SteamInput. Did you try that?
