Hey all, just joined with my first steam deck and I was looking at some dock options.

Looks like majority is for JSAUX and the official dock

Looks like the official has been brought down to 79$ (from 89). Any rumors about a improved one coming later on?

For the jsaux, i guess I saw the m.2 and rgb… but honestly i’m not the biggest fan of how they look.

In the end its all about how many ports are available?

I like my Ivoler dock. Works just fine and it’s cheaper. If money is not an issue I would go for the official dock.

I can recommend the McBazel 6in1 dock, works great.

I doesn’t block the intake vent on the back of the Steam Deck, it has the Ethernet port on the back, and also you can have a case on the Steam Deck.

The M.2 dock, you get DRASTICALLY reduced speeds (Gen 4 m.2 NVMe SSD’s have read speeds around 7,000MB/sec while the M.2 dock tops out at 900MB/sec).

While I would say get the official dock if you can afford it, I don’t think you miss out on anything by buying a cheaper offbrand dock. I bought this dock it gives me the exact same results for cheaper

I went through like 4 of those standard pass-through power dongle hubs and 3 of them just didn’t work on arrival. Despite saying 100w pass through I think they burned out cause they powered the deck for a bit then stopped working entirely. And we’re talking decent brands like Anker!

Finally got one working for a few months from a no-name brand, and the USB-A ports on it JUST died the other day. I’m super frustrated.

I want to just get a Steam dock for home, but I want something smaller for portable/on the go options that will be easier to carry than a full dock.

I got a dock that attaches to the back of my steam deck. It has 2 usb, 1 hdmi, a sd slot and a usbc for charging the deck. I keep it on 24/7 connected to my steam deck. It even comes with a kickstand and it was like $35 on amazon if I remember correctly. Never had an issue with it.

I didn’t like the JSaux one and went for the Syntech 6-in-1 docking station instead. Best decision ever. Works well and I’ve had no issues whatsoever.
