Purchasing steam deck was an experience I would like to forget. But now shipping is equally messed up.

I mean delivery estimate of 3-5 days is bad to start from. I live in the UK and maybe Amazon spoiled me a bit but these days I expect things to get posted next day for delivery a day after. Especially expensive items.

Steam delivery updates are borderline useless. My current status is “shipped” since Tuesday…it’s 5th working day today. So they failed even on their own bloated estimate. Looking at Reddit it seems there are many others in a similar situation.

If it was a random guy from eBay sending a deck somewhere from the middle of nowhere I would understand…but ffs this is a multimillion dollars corporation with almost unlimited resources that has done similar things in the past.

Steam get your act together! Reputation is not easy to fix.

It took 3 days to ship it from NL that’s bad in my books. They knew there will be demand. They had resources and previous experience. Yet they fcuk up

It’s quite simple. Have distribution centres in major spots so that you can send stuff people paid for the next day. Sorted. 3 days max and everyone is happy.

Steam isn’t a charity. They are massive corpo with no.1 objective being a profit.

Just to comment that I live in NL and day one purchase it’s still pending. IMO the problem isn’t with Valve but with GLS Europe. My bike had the same delivery problem a couple of months ago. It will be delivered but with some pain.

Maybe but it’s Valve’s responsibility to make sure their couriers are up for a task …

I know it will be delivered but damage has been done

You’re being downvoted a lot so I wanted to let you know that I agree.

The deck is for sale in the UK, so it’s not out of the question to expect Valve to have stock in the UK, ready for shipping on release day. Same goes for another high demand areas. Valve is just cutting corners by not having more localised distribution.

Thanks. Good to know there are people out there with some common sense not blinded by the corpo brainwash

Even if they distributed all Europe from NL I would expect to deliver within days if they planned properly
