I really want to play rdr2 again on steamdeck, but I have it on xbox. Would it be dumb to buy it again?

Just make sure u’ll enjoy how the deck runs it, framerate wise. I’ve heard it runs 30 to sub 30fps

If you wanna to play it in higher fps than 30, it might be worth it… Kinda ironic, that it can perform better on handheld compared to console if you don’t mind lower graphics settings.

i have been rebuying games in steam for cheap that i already own purely for comfort

granted, you can scoop up some old games under 5 bucks so it is worth it.

if you are actually going to play it, then buy it

but i know we are all guilty of a huge backlog…

I dunno man. It’s $20 right now, if you liked it that much why not. I have purchased borderlands 2 probably 4-5 different times on different systems. I also got Halo MCC and Fable over the autumn sale, both I purchased many many years ago.

Can you not think for yourself?

How do we know your financial situation?

This sub is littered with so much bullshit asking “should I buy x” or “what games should I buy”

    Do some research???

I own Persona 5 on PS4, and I also own Persona 5 Royal on PS4 and Switch. (These are all the collectors editions too) And I’m debating buying it a 4th time for my SteamDeck, so no I don’t think I have a problem.

Boring answer: You might be looking for people to say “yes” so you have justification but make sure you’re honest with yourself. Sure it’s only $20, but so are a lot of games right now. If you’ve played it through on Xbox will you play through it again on steam deck?Personally I loved the game but never want to play any of its boring-ass missions ever again.

Buy Lonely Mountains: Downhill for half the price. It has nothing to do with Red Dead but it’s one of my favourite steam deck games. :)

I did this exact thing in a prior steam sale. No regrets - fun to have this amazing, detailed, beautiful game in a portable system.

Bro it’s your money and time. Stop worrying so much about what others think. If it’ll make you happy then do it. -guy who has never played Rdr2

Honestly if you have the money and you know you’ll play it, get it. If you don’t get it you’ll probably do $20 worth of thinking about it.

I don’t think it’s dumb at all. I have GTA 5 for the ps3/PS4/Steam. I also just bought RDR2 this morning for the steam deck but i already have it for the PS4, surprisingly enough it runs well on the steam deck.
