You’d be surprised at how many own multiple different consoles, from differ generations, and can even double or triple console boost games by themselves when splitscreen boosting isn’t an option. Same as when you have people buying gaming PCs worth thousands due to having the highest end parts in them.
Then it won’t make sense to you when people pay the same prices for any other hobby, either, I guess. And that’s fine. We can all spend money on what we want to be it gaming or tuning your car or taking care of stray cats or whatever. Just don’t go broke over it is my advice.
