I don’t remember this being an issue with the LCD Deck, but my OLED Deck is really noisy when using wired headphones (e.g., hissing, chirps, etc…). Anyone have this issue on either version?

I just checked and I have the same thing on my 512GB OLED. This is a hardware bug. Sounds like system and audio grounding haven’t been properly separated.

It sounds quite bad, makes me wonder how this made it past QC.

One, not really acceptable solution, is to use a USB-C to headphone adapter. I just tried the cheap Apple one and it works perfectly. My Zorloo Ztella also works. My passive OnePlus cable doesn’t work, unsurprisingly.

Downside of that workaround is that the adapter will consume a little bit extra power.

I wonder if I could swap the old board with the new. They aren’t the same, but worth a shot.

Maybe it’s just software. Did you try on a preview/beta build too?

I don’t expect you could swap out the boards, a lot of the components have changed.

I’m quite sure this isn’t a software problem. My official Sony PSOne display and MiSTer FPGA have the same noise and it is caused by the grounding problem I mentioned.

Should it be the headphone wires inside picking up the noise, a shielded cable might fix it. But I don’t expect that to be the cause of the problem.
