A buddy of mine is willing to give me his old Steam Deck that has a TB of extra storage on it that he rarely uses for a pretty good price . My only problem is that I was already contemplating getting the OLED version as my entry into portable pc gaming . There’s no denying that I’d be getting a good deal on purchasing one , but I was wondering if any of you would agree that maybe saving the couple hundred into the new system would be more worth it? Curious to hear y’all’s thoughts .

I got a refurbished 512gb, and it was pristine.

    I love it.

If I had unlimited money, sure, I’d have gone with the LE.

If the friend’s price is good enough that you could easily resell without taking a loss, it doesn’t hurt to play on it a while and see how you feel.

If this is how you feel already, then you will always be second guessing yourself and not fully happy with what you have. It seems to me you actually want the OLED.

If the LCD is a good deal. Like 512gb-1tb for $250, sure. But anything over that, and I’d rather wait until I had enough for a 512gb Oled.

Get an OLED unless you’re really tight on your finances. The screen and battery make a big difference.
