I just recently bought a used steam deck from my cousin and he would use it a lot but kept it in great condition and got a good price on it. But the battery life kinda sucks. Is there anyway you can change the battery and if so, what’s the best one to replace it with, are there any guides best to use? Thank you :)

iFixit has a kit and a good walkthrough on how to do it. Keep in mind, this is not considered to be one of the easier mods to do, probably the 2nd hardest next to replacing the screen because the battery is glued in and you can easily damage several components if not careful.

What kind of battery life are you getting and on what game and what settings? (FPS, TDP, etc). The Deck battery is only really good to play a AAA game maxing out the APU for about 1.5-2 hours. So if that is what you are getting, then it is about right.

Thank you guys for those tips! Would it be better for me to just take it somewhere and have someone with more experience replace it?

No but you can increase your battery life with undervolt and playing at 30 fps (3h20 playing RDR2)
