If you can get games to run around 15 watts, you’ll be pretty happy with battery life overall.

I’m constantly trying to lower my wattage. Mostly because I hate fan noise, but the battery benefit is super solid.

iFixit has a kit and a good walkthrough on how to do it. Keep in mind, this is not considered to be one of the easier mods to do, probably the 2nd hardest next to replacing the screen because the battery is glued in and you can easily damage several components if not careful.

What kind of battery life are you getting and on what game and what settings? (FPS, TDP, etc). The Deck battery is only really good to play a AAA game maxing out the APU for about 1.5-2 hours. So if that is what you are getting, then it is about right.

What u/Levistras said is correct. It will go slower as SD cards are not that quick. Keep in mind that the game will download the update and install at the same time. Depending how the install works, it may go through phases of downloading, then installing, then downloading again. Just leave it, nothing is wrong, you just have to wait for it to do its thing.
