Seeing others say their OLED decks, more commonly the LE ones, have a dead pixel made me check my LE deck for one and sure enough I got a dead pixel. If I never checked I probably never would notice it in regular gameplay. Now all I do is fixate on that dead pixel now. I’m really contemplating whether this warrants setting up an RMA when everything else is fine with the deck.
So this is highly unethical, but I’m gonna share anyway. When you RMA hardware to steam, they send new units before the defective one even ships. My Index had a dead pixel in the headset, they sent me a new one, asked that I would return the old one, and then they just totally forgot about it and never messaged me again. This happened again when one of my Steam VR base stations died, they just sent a new one and never even asked for the old one. So it’s between you and God mate, but you could very easily get a new OLED deck right now and sell the almost perfect one you have for almost full price and get out like a bandit with a free Steam Deck
Holy shit this is cool
