Personally for me I would love spotify/apple music integration, a built in web browser that isn’t google chrome for achievement guides (Akin to the one in the steam overlay) and an AMD equivalent to NVIDIA reflex built into gamescope to reduce the massive input lag when capped to 30fps.
What are your thoughts?
Screen sleep/turn off in game mode. Would like it to turn off when I set it down or when downloading games in game mode.
All I would like to see, at this point, is a fix to the 200/1040 GPU bug that 3.5.5 introduced.
Support for color correction, game recording using hardware encoder on gpu.
Game recording would be sick! Makes me wonder why Valve hasn’t already implemented it. I guess using OBS in desktop mode is a reasonable alternative if absolutely necessary but it’s far from being user friendly
Improvement to suspend battery life would be appreciated, although I don’t think that can be fixed by software alone.
(Just imagine Deck having PSVita-like suspend battery drain)
The biggest problem is the ram. It needs to be refreshed in continue even when on sleep. The PSVita had 512Mo of ram where the steamdeck is 16Go. Like 32 times more.
On suspend yes, but not on hibernation.
And Valve was talking about having something like Series X Quick Resume feature back when LCDeck released (I’m guessing they tried and it just had too many issues, but one can dream).
I think power states are controlled by the AMD firmware. Maybe small improvements can be made through BIOS updates but I think a hardware coprocessor/chip will be required to make any significant improvements
I think it should have “boot to account picker” for people who share a Deck like a living room console.
Also a “boot to desktop mode” for people who want to use it as a desktop PC.
. Native GeForce now!!
Driver lvl frame gen
I think it would only be good on the 90hz OLED models. Frame gen adds significant input lag especially at a 30fps base frame rate so it’s kinda out of the question for the LCD models.
A wake up funktion in docked Mode.
Not to brick the deck
Blowjobs
A year without any new features but full of bugfixes, stability improvements and user experience improvements.
There’s long been a ton of low-hanging fruit in that regard, and it didn’t get any better after 3.5 and the bugs that brought.
Literally nothing, it’s perfect.
It’s perfect at what it’s meant for which is playing games but I think it could be so much more
