Is there anyone else who thinks LE decks are just money grabs for the holidays and would rather wait for actual internal upgrades before buying a newer deck?

It’s personal preference, but in my opinion, the basic black plastic Steam Deck models are an eyesore. I skinned my original because I just really didn’t like the look. But I love my LE OLED. It just looks so interesting.

No. Smokey gray is not my jam and those orange highlights seem too much to me. I’ll mod the regular one to my tastes.

May be. I got mine today, and man, the screen made me fill with amazement. To me, it’s a huge upgrade, I really couldn’t go back to the LCD screen.

Do you mean the LE or the oled in general? I had the old deck and the oled screen is a HUGE upgrade and worth the money to me. Not to mention much better battery life. It’s a bigger upgrade than I thought it was going to be. I would call this steam deck 1.5.

I think the OLED screens in general are a great upgrade. The LE in particular though is a bit disappointing, since it seems like it was more of a beta test for BOE screens, without really informing buyers that they were paying extra for a beta test, not just the unique coloring.
