Hello all! I am seeking other people’s opinions on this topic.
I (25M) bought a Samsung S23 Ultra back when it came out last year. Recently, the screen stopped working - Not due to user error. I sent it in to a local repair shop that is Samsung repair certified to get it fixed under warranty. They fixed it and it works like new, but is no longer water resistant.
I have Samsung Care +. For those of you who don’t know what that is, is that you pay a fee, either monthly or when you buy a phone and it offers free repairs for accidental incidents, loss and theft protection (with a deductible) to get a new phone.
My question is, now that my phone is no longer water resistant after the repair, which I use on a weekly/monthly basis to take pictures underwater (I go on vacation a lot), should I request a new phone so that I can use it to it’s full extent? What would you do?
Sounds like your repair centre scammed you OP. As others have mentioned. Official repair centres release the phone in factory condition i.e. water resistant tested.
