Been really enjoying the new OLED deck, but I can’t help but notice a lot of grainy-ness or speckles, especially in darker colors and greys. I know OLEDs have grey uniformity issues, but this seems like a lot.

Tried my best to capture some pictures, but it’s hard to do it justice with a photo…

Is anyone else seeing similar while it’s still under return window?

That’s perfectly normal for OLED tech. Each pixel has enough variation that some are slightly brighter than others at the same brightness level, causing this sort of texture that’s easy to see on large areas of gray. This is actually why VR headsets mostly moved away from OLED, because it’s so much more pronounced when the screen is right on your face. There’s a specific term for it that’s eluding me right now.

Same EXACT thing on mine. I’ve been scouring reddit for a whole day trying to figure out if anyone is experiencing the same thing as me. I started an RMA claim to see if the replacement 512gb OLED has the same issue. If it does, it does, but I gotta be sure that I didn’t get a faulty panel.

They all have this and it would be a risky endeavor. Imagine rma-ing to get a panel woth the exact same issue that is inherent to 99% of OLEDs but that also now has dead pixels, or a creaky trigger

It is risky I suppose but a dead pixel or a creaky trigger would be the fault of QC at valve, in which case I would do another RMA
