Just got the new deck. Playing RDR2 in my hands is just unbelievable. Whether you have LCD or OLED this piece of tech is a beast.

That the Deck runs this title on a console level experience… in the palm of your hands is beyond insane.

It really is awesome. Got my OLED 512 a few days ago, I haven’t been able to put it down. I guess my expectations were low, I was expecting to be dropping settings and playing everything around 30-40FPS. I was so wrong!

The amount of work Valve has done with Linux alone is astounding. SO MANY of my older games that were broken or unplayable on Windows work perfectly with a single click now. I’ve never seen such ease of compatibility in a Linux build.

It’s also the perfect system for enjoying games that were locked in 30FPS-land, such as Shenmue or LA Noire. No more screwing with refresh and sync setting between game engine and graphics cards to get a smooth/proper 30FPS experience - they work out of the box on this thing with no hassle and the 90hz screen handles 30FPS motion/panning amazingly.

I haven’t tackled games like RDR2, but all the stuff I have played hasn’t had any issue getting 60+ FPS while maintaining a decent image quality.

I got more than my moneys worth out of this thing, going in worrying I was going to regret it and wish I’d waited for the next model. No way, I love this thing!

I got my 512 LCD deck the other day, bought it as it was too cheap to pass up. I had tempered my expectations as it’s a handheld, but my god this thing is incredible. So far I’ve played PGA2K23, Forza Horizon 4, Dirt Rally 2 and various other games without a single problem. I was tempted to buy a pc at one point but I actually think I’m happy with just the deck.

It’s a bit of a monster. Unless you plan chasing the latest games (many of which I’m sure this thing will still run for the foreseeable future) there is enough here to entertain you for a long long time.

Sure is! Valve knew what they were doing. I’ve spent more in the steam store since getting my deck then I have in the last few years! I love it, the portable gaming device I always wanted.

Not my cup of tea. I love open world games, but they have to have skill trees, power ups, exploration that rewards you with armor, perks, etc. definitively, it has to have heavy RPG elements, the story is like the last thing I care about in a game.
