Hey all, I have had my PlayStation since it came out and have had a steam deck but sold it. With PlayStation exclusives coming to PC as post launches. Should I just sell my Ps5 and grab myself the OLED Steam deck?

How many games have you bought on ps5 since launch? How much have you played it?

Why did you sell your steam deck before? Do you have a gaming pc or a significant steam library before?

I only bought a couple games on the ps5 exclusives (spiderman, GOW,). I have a little library on steam like 5 games or so.

Sold the SD Because I didn’t see the need to play games on SD when I could play it on Ps5.My main console is the XSX.

As someone who is in a similar situation as you: I’m happy with it as my ps5/pc hybrid. I also use it as a little mobile Xbox and it’s awesome!

Should have sold the ps5 instead.

Famboy aside. Are you going to use it? Are you comfortable having a deck instead of a ps5? Are you okay with maybe having to tinker for a near limitless library? These are the questions. Their not the same thing at all. Yes they play games, but that’s entirely where the similarities end.

Ive got a PS5 as well. I always wished I could play my PS5 mobile and not have to buy mobile versions of the game. I got a steam deck a year back in anticipation of starfield. When I realized the implications of how steam worked I built a nice gaming rig and my PS5 has been collecting dust. To have a gaming library that grows over the years without having to worry about backwards compatibility… What was I thinking for the last several decades.

Sure PS5 has a few exclusives that will eventually come to PC but PC has soooo many games that will never come to consoles.

I have a ps5. When I got the deck I played it significantly more than my ps5. Even today I still play it much more. I’m not saying you SHOULD sell the ps5 but I am saying I personally have gotten more enjoyment from it due to the fact I can play it anywhere and don’t need to pay for an online subscription and the fact it’s got more games and sales.

I would say however that you should be aware of the decks issues before deciding to sell the ps5 for one. Issues such as shaders taking up a lot of space and such.

Different products for different reasons. I don’t think comparing a handheld to a console is fair. Keep the PS5 unless you hate it and save up for a SteamDeck. Especially if you already have a PC to game on.
