I’m just curious whats everyone experience running Kali linux or Parrot OS on a steam deck?
make a live usb and try it? The deck at its core is an x86 linux pc, so it should be fine. THe screen may be rotated. :)
I was gonna try and see If i can boot it from a microSD card, do you think it’ll work?
BlackArch runs very smooth.
Parrot works great on the LCD. I can’t get the live disk to boot on the OLED though - there’s a hub error. Probably need a newer version with the drivers added or enabled in the kernel
hmm interesting I thought everything was the same other then they just upgraded the screen. I just bought a OLED
I’m going to test more tomorrow, but so far (using ventoy 1.0.9.2) I get stuck on the hub error with parrot. I can boot into latest kali live, but I get the hub error (boot pushes through) and the Wi-Fi chip isn’t detected.
I’ll try blackarch tomorrow and see if I can put the new chip into monitor mode. I’ll also try to find some drivers. Also plan on trying to use parrot docker, but I couldn’t get monitoring to work on the LCD switch, so my expectations are low there.
New hardware that I can recall off the top of my head: bt, wifi, usb, and display? I’ll test more devices and update. Might make a new post.
