I’m really interested in getting an OLED, but hate the idea of redownloading all my files and effort I put into my current micro SD card. Would I be able to insert it into an OLED and keep everything as is, or is a format inevitable?

Yes did that when I got my OLED and all my games were there just had to re do shaders.
