I would like to ask what would you guys choose between these two, what’s your favourite way to play your favourite games. I’m pretty much in a full-time job, I know if I would choose the PS5 I would only be able to play in the living room for 1-2 hours and NOT daily. I feel that with the SteamDeck I would be able to play in bed, on-the-go, or whenever I travel somewhere.

Regarding the performance between these two, what would you choose? Have you been in this dilemma?

Thanks!

After my full time job I am pretty much too exhausted to sit on my desk or infromt the TV and play the PS5. Playing the steam deck on the bed is a life saver.

I had both. PS5 for playing AAA titles to maximize the joy from lucious graphics. SD for playing indie and JRPG titles.

I have both, and being a single dad to a 2 and a half year old I barely have time to play anything on PS5, while the SD I can just whip it out on the fly anywhere. That being said, haven’t gotten around to it yet but plan on setting up Chiaki4deck, will see how that goes.

Ideal combination is PS5/Xbox/PC AND Steam Deck.

Steam Deck for portable gaming and the rest for a home-based system.

If performance is what you’re after, the PS5 absolutely wins that fight. If you want the portability, then the answer is pretty obvious.

Really depends on how you want to play your games. PS5 is going to make games look much prettier than on the Deck. Deck is actually portable though.

Performance wise the Steam deck cannot even come close to the PS5. The PS5’s GPU is around RTX 2070 Super/ AMD RX 6650 levels of performance while the Steam deck is closer to a GTX 1050. When playing on the big screen PS5 is the clear winner. PS5 is also simpler to use as it’s an actual console so no trouble shooting or having games that won’t work.

Steam deck however with the batter means you can easily take it anywhere regardless of internet or place. Has access to a bigger library thanks to steam’s 20 years worth of games on the PC side

So it’s really how do you want to play. On the TV or in your hands with a handheld.

I’ve ordered my steam deck and it’s ready to ship but I’ve also got PS5, Xbox series X and switch, the tbh vs that I’m looking forward to the deck is playing bigger games portable but until I actually get it I won’t know what it’s really like, a lot of the time I reach for my switch for a quick play but then again there are some games that are best played on the consoles plus it helps save spaces on each of my systems
