Somebody mentioned Arzopa a few months back and I was able to find one on Amazon on sale. I got the 17.3" one on sale for like $150. It’s not the best gaming monitor, but it’s not bad, and it makes a nice second display for my work laptop.

I don’t have an OLED yet, so I can only report what I’ve seen elsewhere on the sub. Boot to your bios and turn off USB Dual Role Device, change it to xhci, then it should work. From powered off, hold the volume + button when you power on and it should take you to the bios.

I 2nd that the official dock should be the most reliable, but I also have to mention that JSAux has a dock that has an m.2 slot for an additional SSD. That’s the route I went and I’ve had nothing to complain about with it.

You can not install games locally from gamepass on the steam deck without first installing windows. You can stream them from your PC or your Xbox if you don’t want to do the cloud gaming. With a good home network you should have no real perceptible lag. The huge benefit to doing it this way is that since you’re not taxing the hardware at all since you’re just using it as a screen and a controller essentially, you can have really awesome battery life. That’s how I’ve been playing Starfield. I have almost 100 hours in streaming it from my laptop to my deck and have zero complaints.

None of that helps you for away from home though, so you’ll have to weigh your options there.

  • I don’t recommend sharing the actual account, but you can share the library to another account. Only one person at a time is able to play any shared game though. There’s no real way around that aside from the library owner playing offline. The best option really is to have her mom buy her own games just to prevent headaches in the future.

I don’t have an answer, but you left out how you’re doing remote play, and that could potentially change the answer if someone has one for you. Are you using the built in steam remote play, the steam link app, moonlight, or something else?
