I’d imagine if ifixit starts selling Samsung panels, some may just swap the screen out.

Also is there anything stopping someone from doing a screen swap between the LE and the 512gb OLED aside aside from money?

If you want to go through the complicated and risky process of swapping your OLED screen out for a nearly identical OLED screen from a different manufacturer that is your prerogative, but I don’t know what possible motivation exists to do so.

The fact that the BOE is just as good as Samsung?

Really I don’t understand why people suddenly start to care about the brand of the screen that is in their device.

It’s because of the whole dead pixel thing that’s had everybody here all riled up. The BOE panels are, apparently, more likely to have dead pixels than the Samsung ones.

Yeah exactly. Like people’s biggest complaints about the LE are the BOE panel and the fact that it’s matte.

People could theoretically just wait, keep the LE shell and swap out for a glossy Samsung if the connectors and everything are similar.

Just a late night thought I had lol

OLED and LE are the same layout, I think. They just happen to use a different OLED panel, though.
