I watched the repairability video, but man, just the Hall effect joysticks on the Legion puts it above the Steam Deck imo.

The fact that iFixit sells official steam deck parts also puts the repairability score in question due to the possible conflict of interest. They state that they’ll objective in their assessment, but when money is involved, no one can be certain.

The Hall effect sticks are a good feature all consoles should have, but they don’t matter much to repairability.

That’s good because my LB on the SD broke after like two weeks. It’s also impossible to sell it now because the market is flooded with cheap Steam decks no one wants. Maybe I will try fixing it.

I had an older Dell latitude (sandy bridge days) that was exactly like this. One screw and the entire bottom plate slid off revealing the RAM, HDD, cooling system, and the battery had its own clips to replace.

So the little pokey tool gets stuck in its hole because it’s too gummed up with resin, or it’s been lost and now I can’t hit the pipe because I can’t get the back piece out to clear the resin clog because I can’t use/find the pokey tool

My girlfriend’s brother gave me his steam deck, took me a few weeks to actually pick it up but man, not gonna lie, I like it more than my switch. I can play fallout new Vegas on a handheld and still use console commands, and that’s what I call a game changer.

The switch used outdated hardware when it came out in early 2017, so not surprising.

Dude! That’s the main reason I even want a steam deck. Idk why I can’t play fallout tactics on it though. How’s it running?
