I have an iPhone 11 and have recently tried to download new apps and it won’t allow me to do so and makes me upload a payment method. I’ve used PayPal, Apple Pay, and credit/debit cards and it sends me back to the same pop up to upload another payment method, it’s charged me 9.99 4 times and will not stop, I previously deleted my payment methods because of problems like this even though I don’t have any active subscriptions. I’ve tried Apple support but their customer service is nonexistent and sends me to the same two pages over and over again, I’m tired of dealing with this problem and I think it’s very unnecessary to require a users card information to even be able to download an app. At this point I’m just gonna buy an android and save myself the headache.
Genuinely sounds like you’re confused and doing something wrong. Not enough info really to go off of here.
You signed up for something. Probably without realizing this.
Apple always sends a receipt, although in my experience there’s a delay of a day or two. If you don’t see it, check the junk folder.
And while Apple support is not always super knowledgeable, they are very responsive. Did you try to schedule a callback from them ?
